When to use

In the footer, in a column of its own or under the contact details. Once per page.

When not to use

In the header, where every pixel belongs to navigation. And never as share buttons on content; people share with their own apps.

How it works

  • The icon is an inline SVG with aria-hidden="true", filled with the link colour. The ones here are from Simple Icons (CC0). Each network publishes its own brand rules for its logo; follow them.
  • The text is the network's name as it calls itself: X, not Twitter; WhatsApp with the capital A.
  • Link to the account page, not to an app link. Add rel="me" if the account links back to the site.
  • Every link is at least 48px tall, so the row is easy to tap.
